This blog is not really about kid's movie reviews, but we went to see Horton Hears a Who and I have to write a few words to convince you to spend the money to take the children to see it on the big screen. I can pretty much sum it up in one sentence: It was everything that I thought it would be; super!
When I was a kid, I loved Dr. Seuss books because the characters were funny looking and cute. I was conflicted between loving the characters in the Foot Book, Cat in the Hat or Green Eggs and Ham. The cleverly drawn characters peaked my imagination then and now that I’m grown I can only wonder from where Dr. Seuss pulled his inspiration.
Enter Horton Hears a Who. Never one of my favorites, but now that I have little ones I can easily say we are getting closer to developing a personal relationship simply because of all the cute decorations, clothing and toys that I can buy to get my girls to relate to the books and the movie.
I have to say that I loved the movie. I can imagine that Dr. Seuss is somewhere clapping his hands and shouting in some kind of funky rhyme the equivalent of “ Well done!” The characters stayed true to the storybook and came to life so vividly that you began to feel that it was possible for blue elephants to actually exist. Mr. Mayor’s daughters and his 1 emo son were a trip! And what about the strange, little yellow creature? He didn’t have a speaking part and was rather weird, but in a very cute and adorable fashion.
If you haven’t taken your kids to see the movie, I highly recommend that you do so. It’s one movie that parents won’t have any trouble sitting through and the kids were sufficiently enchanted to the point that they didn’t have to be threatened with the loss of their very lives to get them to sit still.
When the movie is done and the lights come up, get ready for the inevitable onslaught of requests for Horton Hears a Who parties, decorations and kids clothing! You might even want a tee shirt or two for yourself especially if you look cute covered in blue elephants.
These cute ladybug party supplies will tickle your guests at the birthday party or baby shower! And the kids will be crawling all over each other to take one home as a pet! Add some big mylar party balloons to decorate the room in addition to your party kit
Tote bags and ladybug charms are excellent gift ideas for a little girl's birthday party especially if the guest of honor has an affinity for the outdoors including butterflies and ladybugs.
If you are planning a baby shower rather than a kid's birthday party, these
ladybug party supplies
and favors will set a lovely, creative serving table. When the mom to be with a ladybug nursery in red and black sees how cheerful and pretty they are she will know that she made the right choice for her decorations.

Dr. Seuss Horton Hand Puppet
There's room in any child's bedroom for a few more plush toys or hand puppets for days when an indoor puppet show is better than parking them in front of the tube watching another movie; unless it's a trailer for Horton Hears a Who of course.
Playing with plush toys and hand puppets while making up their own stories is a much better way for kids to develop their own creative entertainment and who knows, you might have the next generation's Dr. Seuss under your own roof.
When I was a kid we had a corner in our play room where we had a cardboard box that mom had us to paint and decorate as a home theater. We used dish towels for the stage curtain and had a blast painting our makeshift picture show in wild colors and sticking glitter on it with big globs of white glue. To children, those cheap circles of sparkling glitter looked like precious jewels and our homemade theater was as dazzling as the Metropolitan Opera.
Give your kids the chance to enjoy pretending and knowing how to make their own toys whenever possible.

We are always looking for new ways to enjoy our favorite fairy, Tinkerbell, in our everyday lives. A pretty picture, a figurine or a tote bag with Tink's picture in color print on the front are all very nice and my stash of Peter Pan collectibles grows with each year, but collectibles require wall shelves, bookcases and before you know it you're out of room to display your precious items to their full potential.
What fun is it when our friends come over if we have to dig our collections out of a cardboard box in the closet for them to admire? The best approach is to located themed Tinkerbell collectibles that take the place of less important pieces that are necessary such as Tinkerbell lamps or decorative Tinkerbell theme accessories.
Rotate your collection so it will always seem fresh and new to your visitors and keep the wall shelves high enough so that the children won't be tempted to play with them like dolls. To make up for keeping expensive breakables out of reach, buy your kids some inexpensive Tinkerbell bedding, lamps and accessories that you don't have to be so careful with.

Dr. Seuss Horton Blankie
Dr. Seuss Horton Hears A Who Green Super Bib
Dr. Seuss Horton Hears A Who Pink Super Bib
Here are some baby basket gift ideas for the Horton Hears a Who fan. If you can't locate any actual Who themed items for newborns, substitute baby stuff with blue elephant motifs. Horton was a big, goofy blue elephant so make it work for you! Elephant print stuff is everywhere! Substitute pink elephants for blue when a baby girl is expected.
There are stuffed animals, baby bibs and elephant shaped hooded bath towels. So what if they don't have an actual picture of the character embroidered on them anywhere? If you just want to be a stickler for details, embroider the name; Horton on it yourself in orange or brown letters.
You don't have to buy expensive licensed items to get the job done in style! Be creative and if all else fails, buy a copy of the storybook as your gift basket's centerpiece or simply copy a page from the book at the library as part of the basket's decorations. Your friends will make the connection between the Dr. Seuss book and the blue elephant gifts with no problem and you have managed to put together a really unique newborn gift basket at an inexpensive price!

Who knew that kids movies would be such fashion trend setters? Dr. Seuss baby clothes tell us that they are that and more. The blue elephant from Seuss' imagination is so cute on onesies and rompers. I'm amazed that nobody has figured out that the colors and prints found in the storybooks looks really cool when printed on clothing as well as party decorations and gifts.
Infant onesies and t-shirts are almost too small to accommodate the large, blue pachyderm that appears to enjoy resting under a palm tree with bright, lime green leaves. Add the Horton Hears a Who or Cat in the Hat picture on the shoulder and the results are cute as can be Dr. Seuss themed baby clothes!
While we are on the subject of Dr. Seuss baby clothes, you have to consider that it would be ever so cruel to leave the parents out of the fun, wouldn't it? Shouldn't mom and dad get a little something in the Dr. Seuss baby gift basket that is just for them?
A t-shirt or pair of pajamas for mom would be nice. A coffee mug for dad, a man size t-shirt or a pack of pencils that he could keep on his desk at work would fit in the gift basket and go with the funny Cat in the Hat or Horton Hears a Who onesie.

Kids love rain boots, no matter what color. Rubber boots just make splashing through puddles and mud holes seem so....safe. Surely, mommy won't make a fuss if we are dirty from head to toe so long as we are wearing our rain coats, hats and the bright yellow rain boots that were manufactured by her favorite designer.
Ralph Lauren kids rain boots are the perfect way to keep both mother and the children happy while playing in ankle deep water. The little feet are dry and warm and stylish as can be in plaid, or polka dot candy color rubber boots. College kids and pre-schoolers are all catching on to the fashionable look that a pair of colorful boots add to an outfit. You see wild prints paired with children's shorts as well as classic trench coats, so now's the time to gear up for the rainy spring of 2008!

Cute Peter Rabbit decorations and Peter Rabbit lamps that I've used in my kid's bedroom decorating projects have not been anywhere near what you might call cheap. Anytime that I was able to find an inexpensive lamp that matched my Peter Rabbit decorations in the rest of the room tickled me pink.
If you have a small table or a little empty space on your wall shelf, a Peter Rabbit lamp with a pretty decorated lamp shade covered in polka dots or toile print will provide lighting as well as color and charm for less than half the price of most collectible Beatrix Potter and friends style figurines.

Ideas for ice hockey gifts that will fit in a gift basket have been one of my most requested items recently. I freely admit that I don't know squat about the game of ice hockey, but I know a thing or two about what moms and dads like to receive in their baby's gift basket.
It's always best to include gifts that display well and that turn the gift basket into an arrangement of sorts. Often the gift basket forms the centerpiece of the serving or gift table at the party, so select small hockey themed gifts that are similar in color and are small enough to arrange attractively.
Hockey collectibles are always a winner. Figurines with a hockey theme would be my first choice for the best centerpiece in the basket. Surround your collectible hockey figurine with sports themed commemorative coins, ornaments, t-shirts or if the present is to honor the birth of a child, baby bibs, slippers or onesies with the team logo printed on them.
A masculine basket filled with ice hockey gifts may encourage the proud but reluctant dad to take an active part in the party.

Don't wait until the last minute to sort out your Dr. Seuss Horton Hears a Who Party Supplies, Decorations or Baby Shower Ideas. You may find that decorating and entertaining with this goofy, blue elephant is so much fun that you will want to prolong the process as long as possible.
For those just tuning in, Dr. Seuss Horton Hears a Who is about a bright, blue elephant. Granted he had a rather unusual shape, but that's just the way Dr. Seuss had of making the pachyderms in his storybooks attention grabbing and special. So, gather up lots of stuffed, plush toy elephants that resemble our star, Horton. Here are some creative party theme ideas that our friends have shared with us.
IT'S ALL ABOUT THE BOOKS
Buy up 3D Dr. Seuss Horton Hears a Who board books that you can arrange on stands and use as centerpieces. Send them home with your children's friends as remembrances of the day.
HORTON HEARS A WHO PARTY COLOR SCHEMES
The color scheme should match the colors in the Seuss books; baby blue, nautical blue and burnt orange. Get big mylar balloons and tie them together with ribbons to decorate your party's doorways and areas of importance. If you have a large space to fill or are having your child's birthday party at the pool, big balloon arrangements help to define the boundries of the party.
Twist brown or burnt orange and your multi-colored blue streamers together with some twinkle lights to make a unique canopy overhead. This decoration is especially effective for night parties and provides safe lighting for pathways.
Add a big, personalized plastic banner with the birthday boy or girl's name on it and enjoy the party!
Blue elephants are hot on the kids party scene at the moment. Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who is making a big comeback with yet another generation of children. The movie is not hurting a bit and if you haven't taken your child to see the movie or read the book, please put it on your to do list.
Kids love Dr. Seuss books and if you are planning a party, Horton Hears a Who tableware, centerpieces and decorations are what you will need to make your birthday party a raging success.
For those who find themselves in need of Who Ville plates, tablecloths or other decorations, I'm sure that these Dr. Seuss Horton Hears a Who baby shower supplies and invitations will do the trick. Stylish camo baby gifts like camouflage print pacifiers and bottles are just a few of the clever items that we found in camouflage print. Things have really improved for the hunting or military minded mommy having a baby that wants stuff in Mossy Oak or classic camo prints.
Babies look so darn cute in camo stuff and daddies will appreciate that their boy's baby's clothes have a manly appearance. None of those sissy patterns and prints for their little man's romper, right?
And Mom's got to love that camo comes in lots of stylish colors. There's a place for the classic drab olive camouflage, just not on her little girl's outfit!
Hooded onesies and rompers are nice to cover tiny ears on nice days when you want to be outdoors but the wind might be blowing just a bit too hard. Colorful overalls are even more fun when they are constructed of fabric with a camo print of red dogs and camo patterns!
Mix and match your camo baby gifts with clothing in bright red, orange or lime green colors and watch what the color combination does to brighten the olive green and make it even more fashionable. Add matching socks that you can buy as a set in all colors of the rainbow from yellow to baby blue and there you have the sweetest little outfit money can buy!
