PETER RABBIT FIGURINES.
Beatrix Potter and Peter Rabbit figurines are a lovely gift idea that may actually appreciate in value. Even if this is not the case, a gift basket filled with a storybook, a onesie and some collectibles will make a nice impression at the baby shower.
If you are indeed buying Beatrix Potter figurines for a baby's nursery or a child's bedroom you may want to include the gift of a shadowbox or wall shelves unless mom has shelving where the collection of porcelain figurines can be kept out of baby's reach. It would be so sad if the gift that included in your special gift basket presents a danger to the child it was intended to delight or if it was broken.
Beatrix Potter and Peter Rabbit figurines
that represent the beloved storybook characters are one of my favorite gifts to give because they are long lasting (under the right circumstances) and once they are discontinued the figurines become even more collectible. I love the pretty pastel colors of Beatrix Potter and Peter Rabbit figurines and plush toys, but if your friend is not a collector, consider giving sterling silver or inexpensive pewter figurines so that the baby can hold them and enjoy them without worry.

There's always a place for a few more Winnie the Pooh decorative gift items and accessories for kids. Pooh wooden wall shelves with pegs is just another creative way to display pictures of our favorite characters and provide some much needed storage in the process. A crafty mom can use the wood shelf to display her classic Pooh figurines and collectibles and the pegs will get baby's jacket and hat off the back of the Winnie the Pooh child size rocker.
A pretty Pooh bear shelf with just the right arrangement of Winnie the Pooh and friends wall stickers or decals will make a lovely focal point for a child's bedroom wall. There are lots of stickers that will coordinate just as beautifully with plain white wall paint as it does with a background of wallpaper and wallpaper border.

I'm sure that if you tried hard enough you could figure out how to make a teepee out of a bed sheet without instructions. All it takes is five poles and enough material to cover them. You can even make a teepee with the poles made out of carefully rolled newspaper and then cover them by stapling paper plates over them in layers. The supply list consists of newspapers, paper plates, staples and rubber bands. If you want to make your teepee look like a real Indian dwelling you can then paint some designs on the paper. That's the quick and easy way to make a teepee. It's not the sturdiest or the most waterproof method, but very inexpensive.
I'm a big fan of the educational value of a do it yourself crafts projects, but if you are short on time get a teepee kit. Why waste precious time gathering old bed sheets, straight tent poles and paint supplies when you can buy everything you need for authentic Indian teepee construction for a cheap price. You can even order different sizes from 6 feet tall at the center to 7 and half feet tall.
Teepees are an excellent room decoration for a cowboys and Indian theme bedroom. You can put it to good use as early you like! Tuck it into the corner of the baby's nursery and use it for toy storage. Later on you will be so glad that you have it on hand for rainy day activities.

A snowman or Santa Claus Christmas vacuum cleaner cover might seem like an unusual gift for a new mom. But for the lady who had to compact her household in preparation for the arrival of a new family member, it makes a lot of sense. The close will probably be stuffed with baby items for awhile and then the kids' toys will need a place to go, so storage in these homes is at a premium especially during the holiday season. No matter what your preference might be in Christmas decorations crafters have got you (and your vacuum cleaner) covered. There are Christmas vacuum cleaner covers in Nutcracker designs, vintage Father Christmas or Santa Claus styles as well as Frosty the Snowman.
Of course, you can benefit from this handy spacesaving gadget year round. If you have an upright vaccuum or an electric broom, you may want to buy up an inventory of styles that will work for every holiday and season of the year. You can also make your own from a pattern that Simplicity offers in their craft section.
You can order bunny covers that will be cute as can be for Easter and change its dress when the 4th of July, Thanksgiving or Valentine's Day rolls around. No matter what style of decor or room theme that you may have, there is a vacuum cleaner cover out there that will blend with your decor. For the log cabin or cottage at the lake pick up a rustic black and brown bear cover.
I'm sure that if you are crafty and know the ins and outs of a sewing machine or serger that you could make your own patterns. There's a nifty idea for you work at home moms! Start your own cottage industry with a line of themed, custom made to order vacuum covers and offer these as unique baby Christmas gift ideas that will be appreciated by the mom on your Christmas list with no closet space in her nursery.

Stuffed zoo animals used to just sit there until they came to life in my imagination. When I was a kid, the stuffed animals in my bedroom were my rainy day pals when all the children in my neighborhood were stuck with their noses pressed against the window glass. If I got into trouble and was confined to my room as punishment my stuffed toys were my allies and didn't mind a bit that I dried my tears on their plush fur coats.
Toys have come a long way in a very short time. Once upon a time teddy bears and sock monkeys ruled the roost and now the list of exotic animals that are UNavailable is shorter than the list of the animals that are in the stores. If you are in the market for a giant red eyed tree frog, you are in luck! Not only are most endangered species memorialized as toys for kids, but you might be able to get one big enough for your baby to ride on! Rocking horses are still around, but there are lots of other cute animals on rockers, too!
I think my current favorite would have to be the giant stuffed elephant with sound capabilities. The soft gray elephant can be arranged in lots of different poses for your child's entertainment. With the addition of some lions, tigers and a performing seal or two, your baby could have his own three ring circus in his bedroom or nursery!
So what if pink elephants have developed a less than super reputation? I'm all in favor of giant, plush pachyderms complete with realistic plush ivory tusks but sometimes we want toys that are just cute! Educational toys certainly have their place in the toybox, but a sparkly purple elephant doll is a whole lot of fun and sometimes the learning process has to be entertaining as well as mind expanding.

Cute girls' mini-chandeliers and little girls rooms go hand in hand! If you know a mom that is in the process of giving her daughter's bedroom a makeover, here's a really cool baby gift idea. Why not give the gift of an attractive source of lighting? New parents might not have the decorating budget to update that old light fixture and a petite chandelier that matches the rooms decor would be a truly unique and greatly appreciated gift.
What better place to hang pretty purple crystal chandeliers resplendant in shining diamond like beads. The problem with most chandeliers is that they are manufactured as lighting for large areas of the home and most contemporary bedrooms (unless you are lucky enough to have a vaulted ceiling that will support a big light fixture) are moderate to small in the amount of square footage department.
To decorate a small baby's room, you will need one of the mini crystal chandeliers so that it won't look out of proportion in comparison to the size of the room and the scale of the baby's furnishings. You won't have to give up a bit of decorative charm or visual drama with a small pendant or petite chandelier and I promise that the visitors to your baby's room will be amazed at how beautifully your lighting sparkles.
You might even be lucky enough to find some other purple crystal accessories to go with your purple crystal chandelier like elegant crystal wall sconces, drawer pulls or door knobs.

Does anybody know if Bugaboo strollers and Bugaboo outerwear by Columbia are connected in any way? I honestly don't think that the two companies have anything in common other than names and the fact that they both produce extremely durable, well made products for kids.
Many moms believe that a cheap jacket or coat is the best way to outfit a baby boy or girl because they outgrow them so quickly. To those mothers I say that the resale value of Columbia Bugaboo winter coats will make them seem relatively inexpensive especially since they wear like iron and wash like a dream. I have resold many Columbia parkas and got close to what I had paid for them brand new in the stores! If you can find Columbia clothing for kids at a discount, you may get MORE than you paid.

Here are some great ideas for some cute Peter Rabbit theme items to tuck into a baby boy's gift basket. We also have some suggestions for how to make a gift basket with some nice things for mom that give a nod to her baby boy's nursery theme.
The basket is important! No matter what you put inside your baby gift basket, the basket is the first thing that catches the eye. You can pick up a sturdy (but cheap) basket in the crafts section of your favorite discount store. Don't let the color stop you if you like the design, you can spray paint it and stencil cute designs on it to your heart's content.
Once you get your basket ready, here are some cute Peter Rabbit gifts that mom and baby will adore!
- Peter Rabbit Coffee Mugs
- Peter Rabbit Mouse Pads for the Computer
- Peter Rabbit Snowflake Christmas Ornaments
- Peter Rabbit Tote Bags
- Peter Rabbit Refrigerator Magnets
- A package of greeting Cards, invitations or thank you notes
